Privacy

Written with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) in mind: we collect the minimum, with your explicit consent, for one stated purpose, and delete it when you ask.

What we store, and why

• If you subscribe to the digest: your email address, the job functions you selected, the digest cadence you chose, the exact consent text you agreed to and the time you agreed. Purpose: to send you the digest you asked for and to prove consent.
• If you report a job: the job id, the optional reason you typed, and a keyed one-way hash (HMAC) of your IP address made with a secret salt, used only to count one report per person per job and to limit abuse. Without the salt the hash cannot be reversed; the salt is kept out of the database and can be rotated, which makes earlier hashes unlinkable.
• When you click “Apply”: a count of click-outs per job. No identifier is stored with it.
• Server logs: standard request logs kept briefly for security and debugging.

We do not use cookies for tracking, do not build profiles, and do not store your CV or any application.

The consent you give

I agree that Remote Desi stores my email address, the job functions I selected and the time of this consent, and uses them only to send me a digest of newly verified remote jobs at the cadence I chose. I can unsubscribe with one click from any email, and I can ask for my data to be deleted at any time.

Subscriptions are double opt-in: nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link.

Analytics

If analytics are enabled we use Plausible, a cookie-less, privacy-friendly service that stores no personal data. Otherwise, nothing runs in your browser besides the page itself.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone. Emails are sent through a transactional email provider acting on our instructions.

Retention and deletion

• Unsubscribe with one click from any email; we stop sending immediately.
• To have your data deleted entirely, email hello@remotedesi.com from the subscribed address. We delete within 7 days and confirm.
• Unconfirmed signups are deleted after 30 days (a daily sweep; the same sweep also runs at each signup).

Job data

Job postings shown here are published by employers on their own job boards or on feeds whose terms permit display with attribution. We store the posting's facts and a short excerpt and always link to the original. Employers can ask for removal: see the Takedown page.
